  1. Best friends?

    Best friends?

Two long-time competitors, CN & CP ride together on CN Q102. Where are you competition bvureau? LOL.
  2. CN Rainbow

    CN Rainbow

CN Rainbow Two Dash 9-44CWs, including a Canadian cab, still unpatched by CNs web address, lead Q107 through a rainstorm.
  3. Eastbound Double Stack Slips by Mt. Hood

  4. The Last Saskatchewan TOFC

    The Last Saskatchewan TOFC

No doubt they are still around, but sadly they are not so common around here anymore. A strange fact, as the American lines see Trailers as a more important shipment than Stacks.
  5. CN Dash-9 Diversity

    CN Dash-9 Diversity

CNIC 2716 with step-sister CN 2506 are nothcing up with CN 112, our equivilent to the BNSF Z-LACWSP. They were making good time, too. I think Chris de Vries was in the cab for this run.
  6. Montreal Intermodals

    Montreal Intermodals

CP 9752 heads up the CP Intermodal stack train to St. Luc. Like all CP trains in Moose Jaw, he will stop to gas up.
  7. Hot Stuff

    Hot Stuff

Here we see CN 111. Apparently, the most important Intermodal on the west leg of the CN. He came by not too long after CN 199, who in turn was not to far behind 303. All train had an SD75I leading, so I was pretty happy.
  8. Cross Country

    Cross Country

I was out at the farm again, and another train came by again. It's probably the 102, but it could be the 104 or 106.
  9. Way back when...

    Way back when...

I shot this back in 2006, and finally managed to put it up. Could be in 1996. I would immagine this is the CN 107, but that was about a year before I got my scanner.
  10. Into the hole

    Into the hole

CN 102 heads underground, into the hole. He would wait for CN 107, sporting an exactally identical lash-up, right down to cab configurations. But thats the way it was, on Modal' Monday. CN 2508 is on the point, and a friend of ours just so happens to be aboard this time.
  11. CN 104

    CN 104

Here is a prime example of what was on the menu, one June 9th, 2008. Every train a stacker, every locomotive a Dash-9. I like to call it "InterModal Monday". The 104 prepares to take the hole on its way east back to Taschereau.
  12. Intermodal DPU

    Intermodal DPU

CP uses DPU all the time on potash trains (except for 654), however in winter it's used on the Intermodals as well. With CN picking up DPU for manifests, hopefully this practise won't be limited to CP any longer (CN runs 7 IMS's through town vs. 1 on CP). 11:40am CP 103: CP 8768/8...
  13. CP 104

    CP 104

CP 9630 and an un-indentified ES44AC lead 104 into the city. The train was parked actually. Not a particularly good idea, since the bridge over the river in the background is shared with pedestrians and they like climbing onto the tracks. PS. You can see an elevator in the background! That's...
  14. What the?

    What the?

CN 357 has a hidden payload of Intermodal traffic tacked on the end. Too many baretables on 111, I guess.
  15. Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center

    Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center

This station first opened for passenger train service on 31 Dec 2001 with free Trinity Railway Express (TRE) runs between Fort Worth and Dallas. It officially opened on 12 Jan 2002 and replaced the Union Depot as the AMTRAK station in 2002. It is also served by various taxi, bus and trolley...
  16. So long IMS!

    So long IMS!

IMS has seen massive traffic growth in the last decade, yet CN is scrapping theirs! These aren't old ones either, all of 1992 vintage. While CP continues to use 'ancient' in comparison flats of 1970 BLT, I believe I've also seen a couple '68's in the mix. Note that they're all wearing safety...
  17. Streaking through the night

    Streaking through the night

The crossing sign and Boeing signal stand in silent watch at Mukilteo as two locomotives on the tail end of an intermodal train head south. Catching units in the middle or on the end of trains around the Seattle/Tacoma/Everett area is pretty rare and it was a nice way to end the night.
  18. Coming off the Cascades

    Coming off the Cascades

BNSF4933 leads a westbound off of Stevens Pass and down towards Wenatchee. The mountains in the background show what this train had to conqure.
  19. KCS'S Meridian Sub

    KCS'S Meridian Sub

KCS Eastbound Intermodal Train I- LZJA rumbles through Dixon, Ms.
  20. It's Still Bright!

    It's Still Bright!

BNSF #7686 leads an intermodal out of the Cascade Tunnel, but with a slightly different appearence, going from bright orange to a somewhat bright green!
