While waiting for a train at Blossberg, I happened to catch sight of this unusual tank-trailer-on-rails thing. My best guess is it is related to MoW in someway, but I'm not totaly sure.if you know otherwise, go ahead & tell me so I can make a more accurate description.
Four Geeps lead the "NEW WEST" northbound thru Custer,WA headed for the INTALCO yard on the Cherry Point Sub where it has a big switching job to build a train to bring into the ARCO Cherry Point refinery.
UP 5304 leads a rerouted stack train down the BNSF La Junta Subdivision. They will reenter home rails just about 2 miles ahead at Morton Jct. Where the La Junta Sub meets the UP Herington Subdivision.
UP #4843 leads the Z-PDCS (Expedited Trailers - Portland, Ore. to Canal St. [Chicago, IL]) just west of Arlington, Ore. Power was the UP #4843 and 3 other SD70M's for power.. After leaving CP Biggs Jct., 4843 was running about 70-ish mph. At Arlington, we were finally ahead of this train.
BNSF #3002 leads two other 4-axle power through the curve east of the East switch North Dalles to points westward in Washington state. The grain cars right behind the power were probably added to the train in Pasco to move to the Vancouver/Portland area.
CSX 1, the Spirit of West Virginia, southbound at Walbridge, Ohio north of the yard Jan 6 2008. Cruddy lighting aside, it was my first photo of the year, first CSX sighting of the year, so why not complete the trifecta and make it my first online photo?
