This is one of seven semaphores I saw still in operation just north of Las Vegas, NM on August 30, 2007. There may have been others that I did not see. Photo was taken by my son Steven Thorn.

Santa Fe F7 314 and 5 B units lead an Eastbound freight through Joliet, Illinois on a rather overcast evening. This unit has seen better days but it's still a good Santa Fe memory with classic and long gone semaphores.

F7 311 leads a Westbound freight through Joliet Illinois in October, 1973. This unit was leased to Amtrak in June of 1971 and returned to the Santa Fe when Amtrak started to get it's own power.

Looking northeast from the Mt. Vernon Overpass in San Bernardino, CA, the former ATSF "A" Yard and Shops Complex is seen with the San Bernardino Mountains in the background in 1986. About the only thing that looks the same today are the mountains!
