The Hamond Lumber Company

The #17 has been through much and it's whole life pretty much in the northwest. #17 sarted in the Tillimook area hauling logs out to a mill a few miles away. Then the Tillimook burn came through having #17 to move to northern California where it would go through another fire but would not be moved but to sit at the old log campstite area. A few years later a man(I do not know name)made a road to the old campsite and demolished #17 and would be rebuilt at his railroad based out of Klamath, California. A few years later his railroad ran out of buisness and 17 was demolished again with a few other locomotives. A hand full of locomotives were going to the Mount Rainier Senic Railway for repair in Minral Lake, Washington. It was rebuilt in the same way it is now. After about a year #17 was sitting outside the shop and the Mount Rainier Senic Railway had bought #17. The year was 1995(I do not know the day or month)It has been running ever since has it is shown here sitting in Elbe, Washington to run the first excursion of the day to Mineral Lake and back to do two more runs.
