Gulp, what the heck happened to that unit?? Did someone decide to use a electric sledgehammer on that :(

Nope. Here's the story:

On January 20 1995 Westbound CPR freight train 981-20 (With locomotives 5738,5660,5938, 27 loaded and 22 empty cars)Stuck a rock slide on a left-hand 10 degree curve at mile 111 of the Nelson Subdivision (Near Procter) at aprox. 0721PST. The trains three locomotives plunged 125 feet into Kootenay Lake with two cars. The lead locomotive came to rest some 60 feet underwater. Two of the three crew members were drowned. The conductor was in the third locomotive (5938) and was able to crawl out and climb to top of cliff and ran nearly 3 miles to a MOW crew to summon help. By March 29th 1995 the lead locomotive was recovered, all three units were subsequently retired.
