EF 28-105mm f/4-5.6

The EF 28-105mm f/4-5.6 is a compact and extremely light standard zoom lens.

Features

Among the lenses with fastest AF speed in it’s class
Light weight and small size
Circular aperture at maximum settings for improved background blur
Inner focusing means attached filters do not rotate
Environmental friendly lead-free glass used

A convenient, general purpose zoom lens

The EF 28-105mm f/4-5.6 uses an aspherical lens element to maintain a high image quality throughout the zoom range. All the elements are made from environmentally friendly lead-free glass. The small size of the lens is due, in part, to the use of a new type of AF drive actuator. The AF speed is faster than with previous lenses in its class when used with the EOS 300V but also with other EOS models. With inner focusing, the front lens does not rotate during focusing. Various accessories can therefore be attached to the front lens without being hindered by lens rotation or movement.

Pros: Cheap, very light, great range, compact, front element doesn't rotate when focusing
Cons: Very low sharpness, strong CA, slow focus, "el-cheapo" build quality

This is a lens that you get with the camera, and either sell, or leave it in the box it came in. Not a very good lens to shoot trains with, and if you drop this lens, it will explode into a million pieces. The 28mm length could easily be beaten with the Canon 28-135 IS. I don't recommend this product.
