Fireman's side of the Flexomotive. The four wheel version, depicted here, was produced from 1938 to 1949 and weighed between 45 and 51 tons. 23 four wheeler's were built. Unfortunately, the origional owner of this specimen is unknown. The unit was driven by the "Flexomotive" transmission, a dual planetary gear driving a jackshaft (visible as the short shaft at the rear) connecting to the rear axle which was then, in turn, connected to the front axle by a connecting rod.
