NS just replaced a wooden trestle VERY similar to that, but a good bit higher, with a ugly steel and concret trestle in Leeds, AL on the Central of Georgia line. The trestle flys over US. Hwy. 78 and also the NS Southern Line between Atlanta and Birmingham. See a shot of the old bridge here, [ link ]
