Default Snow in the Mountains

So now that we are getting dumped on here in the PNW, and I know Whistler has gottn 8 feet of snow, how are things up on the passes in the Cascades and Blues? Time to break out the rotaries yet? =P

No rotaries but they did run a Westbound Z though the siding at Berne to keep it plowed out.

PNWHogger,

So, are they still using that MOW regulator to clear the snow from the tracks and ROW?? How high can the snow get before they have to get a Jordan out??

Got to love the wheelslip system on trash 9s. I came close to stalling on my 900 ton train because of a half inch of snow on the rails.

Twenty-three years ago:

Here is what I found parked at Skykomish in 1986. I think it was November.

Are these same two pieces of equipment still used on Stevens Pass?

So, are they plowing Stampede so it is ready as backup on the drop of hat? As I recall, they do have equipment to do so stationed at Easton.
