Default Amtrak Cascades in Chicago

After months of it being in the Chicago area I am finally able to catch this damn engine. AMTK 90230 has been here since the summer of '08. Here it is seen dashing through Belmont station.

Keep in mind the Cascade unit is a "cabbage" with no prime mover or traction motors; it's just a control cab for push-pull trains. Odd that it would end up out there, unless they're trying it out for future additional conversions?

There has been a Surfliner unit on the Cascades for a couple days now. It seems like one set has an Amtrak P42 in place of a cab car, probably the one in your photos.
