Default North Idaho Scenes

This morning between 5am and 10am found North Idaho a good place to be railfanning. But both the UP and BNSF promptly died off at 10am, which is the usual sunday habit, so I headed home and will probably be back out this evening sometime.

1. A empty potash train (OT5ET) leaving the Spokane Valley at about 5am.

2. The same train heading into the sunrise. This is the first nice glint shot that I've ever gotten with the sunrise. Sunsets seem to work better for glint shots.

3. H-PASKCK near MP 12 on BNSF's "Funnel" near Algoma, ID.

4. The OT5ET again, ruining fishing near MP 67 on UP's Spokane Sub, the former Spokane International.

Why can't the engineer be electrocuted?
Because he's not a conductor!

5. The H-CSXPAS near MP 22 on the Funnel.

6. A interesting DODX car on the train above. Your guess on what is inside the cylinder is as good as mine.

7. G-ABATAC on the big fill at Granite, ID, near MP 25.

8. A wider angle.

Nice shots Ted. How's the traffic been on the funnel these days?
