    I shot this stopped CSX southbound coal train one foggy morning in Woodruff, SC back in December 1992. The c40-8W's were brand new as was the CSX "bright Future" paint scheme. This line was a railfans delight since it was dark territory and US 220 followed the line south out of Spartanburg most of the way to Greenwood, SC.

    Led by a veteran EMD, three six-axles struggle to bring a 157 car Q324 out of Defiance in the final moments of daylight on April 18, 2012. In the foreground are some of the gravestones of Hires Cemetery.
    A big fan of the rails, and a big fan of railing.
