A little AC/DC action outside of Stockton Intermodal. The far train is an Army movement and powered by a ES44C4 while the closer train is a mixed freight with an older 9-44CW at the lead. I am no expert at identifying locomotives, I just read them

My record of seeing this car set with the "cabbage car" trailing remains unbroken. Some day I will see it at the head end :-)

Wow, quite a mix or roads and rollingstock. Are those all tanks in post #882?

That's part of a Stryker brigade heading home from training at Fort Irwin. At least half of the vehicles are Strykers, and the rest appear to be Oshkosh HEMMTs and possibly a few MRAPs or the Army's version of M-ATVs as well. There's probably some more conventional five-ton trucks or deuce-and-a-halfs, too.

Yup, mostly Strykers. I remember test loading those on C-17's up at Moses Lake back in the aughts. Fires have kept me inside all week. Here's another view of the train with a San Joaquin thrown in

Yup. All up and down this part of the division the sidings look nicer than the mainline because they have been expanding them using all the pretty new stuff.
