Getting to see a shot of an A-B-A lashup these days is always a treat.

Do they load garbage into containers for transport?

The garbage is loaded into the containers at transfer stations, then transported by the trainload to a landfill above the Columbia River at Roosevelt in eastern Washington.

I saw one of those GN/BNSF switchers today (8/14/17) at one of the grain elevators off I-5 near Kalama.

I went down to the marsh Monday morning (8/21/17) to photograph the eclipse.

The BNSF (former GN) mainline hugs the bluffs along Puget Sound between Everett and Seattle, offering no views to the east other than from a short stretch of track in Edmonds along the marsh. Passengers on this side of the Seattle bound Empire Builder (Amtrak #7) got a brief view of the eclipse.

Some street side shots of a southbound (tt/west) from Railroad Ave. at the Dayton St. crossing Monday afternoon (8/28/17). I am always on the lookout for diesels with interesting numbers. After downloading the photos on my computer, I noticed that the lead diesel was #6543 and the second diesel was #8383.

The Amtrak station and passenger platform are in the background.

If I was still in Jersey, I'd play those numbers. No action around here.

A southbound (tt/west), probably the Gold Bar Turn, passed the marsh on Labor Day (9/4/17) led by an A-B Geep combo.

Later that morning a northbound (tt/east) tank train went by with one of my favorite units in the consist.

Photographing trains has taken a back seat to photographing a rare bird that has been in the area for over a week. For those interested, scroll down page 19 and continue on to page 20 for photos and details.

A member who makes virtual rail-fanning videos is seeking information on BNSF trains using Stevens Pass. Some of you who follow this thread also monitor rail traffic over Stevens Pass via that railfan radio-computer network. If you can help, please respond to this thread:
