For Sale: Replica Streetcar
I am posting this ad on behalf of the Oregon Electric Railway Historical Society in Brooks, Oregon. We currently have a replica streetcar that was built by and for the Old Spaghetti Factory Restaurant chain and are trying to find a new home for it.
“This car is not a true streetcar. It never saw a day in revenue service except for in a restaurant. It is a replica car was built by and for The Old Spaghetti Factory of Charlotte, NC. After the restaurant was closed, the car (in kit form) was shipped back to Portland, as Portland is the Headquarters for the Spaghetti Factory.
The Spaghetti Factory realized that the custom built car was not ADA compliant so they offered it to the OERHS as a donation. The OERHS gladly accepted. The car is better then anybody imaged.
The museum built a shelter for the car and added windows and end doors. This car served as a temporary interpretive center and gift shop for the new museum until the extension to the Brooks Depot was opened in 2006.
911 is in the location of the museum's future Interpretive Center.”
We are getting ready to begin construction on our interpretive center building and the car currently sits on the site of the future building. The car is made of hardwood (mahogany I believe) with glass windows and brass lights. The floor is made from 2x6 materials and the car is in excellent condition. The car can be disassembled into about 4 pieces for easy transport. The car is not weatherproof and the structure covering the car in the photos is NOT included.
We are asking $5000 for the car and will help with disassembly and preparations for shipment.
A link to see photos of the car can be found at http://www.trainweb.org/oerhs/roster/spaghetti_911.htm.
This will make a great play structure for kids, or a display piece for any rail enthusiast.
Let me know if you have any questions.
