Default Winter in China 12: Pingdingshan, a QJ afternoon (50 p.)

    Hi,

    The video for this part:
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=E3ykc5S88Jk

Now we drove to Yzhou, about an hour northwest of the city, as this line is exclusively served by QJs

The cars are being shunted for coal loading by a QJ double with deflectors

    Mighty workplaces

There can never be enough smoke!

    Many wheels on the ground...

    Been there, done that!

This worker always stopped and started to smile when I tried to take a picture of him...

... so the tactics turning around, faking loosing interest and shooting quickly had to be used! ;D

Also nearby runs the diesel-operated narrow gauge line to Xuchang, still with semaphore signals

Another QJ arrived, we already had seen it in the morning

The trees were alive, but the bark looked like charcoal

The departure of the train had been announced for about 4 p.m., early enough for some lineside shots. Now it already was 5 p.m.

The headlights were switched on at 6:10 p.m.

And at half past six: departure!

    Freehand with 1/8s, ISO 1600 and 10mm

    The QJ helper with 0.6s

The banking loco had its rear headlights turned on, so the standing QJ was lit, also 0.6s freehand.
A nice farewell spectacle for some of the last QJs in service!
    Greetings,
    Roni
