Default Winter in China 2b: Zhalai Nuer, day 1, sunset at the pit (40 p.)

    Hi,

We continue at the open cast coal pit shortly after 4 p.m.

Now the workers close to me were on the way back

A maintenance train with steam crane comes along

Ride home, the shunting worker on the other train still has to stay

Simply take as much pictures during the short sunset around 16:30, it's pure madness anyway! ;D

3-loco-glint with more locos in the background

    Now the light goes away

The evening passenger train crosses my path, heated up from the climb I was completely blind at the moment... ;D
The sign to the left is against drinking, with a man chugging down a giant cocktail-glass.

Darkness and even greater cold are setting over the pit

    The last steps uphill

View back at a successful first afternoon at exactly 5 p.m.

I'm impressed as always with your shots Roni! I'm also envious of your trip. Thanks for posting your images.

Those shots are incredible. It looks very cold but worth the effort for
those shots. Is steam on it's last leg in that area of China like in other areas?

    Hi,

    Thanks again!

Yes, the pit will close in 2010, so they didn't modernize...
