Today the middle lead is out of service for 10 hours while a switch is installed between the 11th St. Crossing and the team track switch. While the middle lead OOS northbound trains to the Seattle sub and eastbound trains to the Fallbridge sub are proceeding to North Portland Jct. where they back into the south leg to turn.
While I was out wandering today I ran across an empty coal train turning at T6. Right after the empty a load showed up to back in.
After swapping the switch crew for an outbound Fallbridge sub crew the empty coal train rounds the curve at Eighth St. On the right a welder takes a break from working on the yard lead/M1 frog. The equipment and men in the background are working on the new switch.
Working on placing the switch.
It'll be interesting to see what things look like next week!
