Finally got out of Omaha and headed west to see family in Oregon. The usual I-80 through Nebraska and Wyoming and then I-84 into Oregon.
Along the way west there were many trains and we kept moving as we really wanted to get there. Came up on train after crossing into Utah and made a stop at Morgan Utah for gas and snacks. The DPU is the first shot and then the headend power as it rolls through Morgan.
Into eastern Oregon a flat tire and long wait for tow truck caused us to arrive in Lebanon, Oregon long after dark.
The next day (May31) found A&E 1750 Shuffling cars on the shop at Lebanon. Much family stuff for a few days and then I was allowed to find A&E 2501 returning from Sweet Home bound for Lebanon.

On the eastbound return trip(June 6th) I wanted to get some pictures in Weber Canyon or anywhere between Ogden and Evanston. We came up on a train and were able to pull off at the eastbound Weber Canyon Rest Area. Standing up on a rock wall gave me a good vantage point. Train was moving slow and the next opportunity was at Hwy 167 near Morgan Valley. Off the interstate and a complete reverse of direction down a dirt road and I was presented with double bridges on the river. The train slowed and stopped. There is no eastbound access to the interstate so we took the 2 lane till we could get back on. Then on to Evanston.

And the last part of my post is Evanston, Wyoming. The city has done a marvelous job of restoring the round house and preserving other buildings around the shop complex. I was surprised to find another roundhouse still existing in Wyoming. Must have been something full of Challengers, Big Boys and 800s.

A few more from outside of Laramie. A tornado that we watched for a good 40 minutes before coming near it just north of Laramie. Is was moving east at 15 MPH and some damage to farms buildings, but stayed north of Laramie. It was not small and would have done major damage to a town.

Thanks for looking.

Nolo problemo. Now in the Western US forum. The tornado, however, belongs in the Midwest forum.
Yes, they said tornado was a bit unusual for the 7000 ft altitude of Laramie, so always carry your helmet.
So how did you move the post from one forum to the other? Thank you very much for moving it.

Ahh....yes. We in the computer industry have used magic to fix computers quite often. I appreciate your use of it for good.
