I will be going out fr my first time. (Ojt). We may have to lay over on the othe end. Could be in a bunk house or motel. Then return back to home terminal after rest. What kind of food do guys usually pack? Canned stuff or?

You get a two or three hour call before going to work find time to eat well. Stay away from canned foods as they are full of salt. Try to eat healthy.
Every locomotive has an ice box, when you start the trip plenty of ice and water. I often carried food for the entire trip once you arrive at a hotel your not in
the mood for going out to dinner. Bunk houses have been replaced by shitty motels and by union rule to have a restaurant with in walking distance open 24 hrs.
