Had the opportunity to see the UP Southern Pacific (SP) Heritage unit as it made its way into Okla today. My wife & I took of for from Tulsa, OK to Wagoner, OK to McAlester, OK to follow the UP Cherokee-sub.

Arrived in N. McAlester to find the UP office & crew change point.

1. This office marks the end of the Cherokee-sub (ex-MKT/Katy) that heads south from Parsons, KS to McAlester, OK & the beginning of the UP Choctaw-sub.

10. Caught up with UP 1996 just south of the Eufaula, OK siding (mp 532.6/CPU 533) at track speed. Did not have any southbound meets on its way north to Wagoner, OK (mp 488.2/CPV 582)

11. Took some shots in Muskogee, OK (mp 503) but sun was out & all of UP 1996 just did not look good since the SUN FINALLY came out:eek:, so caught the southbound Manifest Kansas City, KS to Englewood Yard, Houston, TX (M KCEW) after it picked up an engine at Muskogee, OK. Engines under the bridge is the power for the Pryor, OK local 62 (LVA62?)

Thank you.
That Sunday morning sun was just right & Miss Katy was facing southeast.
Had a few hours of great light for her but none for the SP today.
Still fortunate to have caught 3, (MoPAc, Katy, SP) of the 6 heritage units.
Look forward to chasing/catching the remaining 3.
