Went down to the Ship Channel to do some long exposures of the San Jacinto Monument and th Fred Hartmann bridge. During the night I saw this pair of RP20s tied down in Seabrook.

Awesome photos. Are you on the groups Railspot or Railroad Enthusiast on Facebook? There are a lot of photos and movement information on there. I'm in the Beaumont/ Port Arthur/ Orange area.

Been back in Texas on break. Head back to Ruston this coming week. Here are a few snapshots from the break. A couple highlights, the third train has an Arrowedge on the lead double stack. Itsed65 has shown that piece of gear out west several times, but it was the first time I've seen it here on the Glidden sub. The last photo is a fine example of why I always keep an eye on the skies when chasing a train. I was setting up to try a new angle on the BNSF sub, when I saw that guy working the field on the side of the road I turned off on. Had my own private airshow for about 15min.

I was browsing through some past airshow shots when I found these. They're a couple of shots from Fort Worth in October when I attended the Fort Worth Alliance airshow. Near the Alliance airport is a car factory served by rail. As the USAF heritage flight was taxiing down the runway I framed a GP40 switching a cut of autoracks with an F-16 and a P-51.

Not meant as a criticism but that is an SD, not a Geep.

Scattered shots from around the Houston area in the last couple weeks. Rental 4-axle power on a daylight run to Eagle Lake, Galveston Railroad power, PTRA units switching the Port of Houston, and a Canadian National unit train in the Englewood Yard.

Haven't seen any gators lately.

Chased a KCS manifest from Kendleton through to Ganado after work a few weeks back.

This past Saturday was a first. I got pulled over in Waelder while chasing a UP manifest from Glidden to Harwood. Shoot the train at various locations including Flatonia, Schulenberg, and Borden. When I was driving into Waelder I noticed a railway employee on the shoulder talking into his radio and looking at my vehicle after I drove by. Got my shot in Waelder, and as I was exiting the downtown area a cop passed by, turned around and pulled me over. Asked me for my license and what I was doing. While he was running the license a county sheriff showed up as well. The officer came back, returned my license, and explained why I had been pulled over. Apparently, there was a terrorism concern, and he did NOT mention any issue with trespassing or being too close to the train. The crew had called me in about 30mi back, so near Schulenberg probably. They let me go and I caught up with the train in Harwood just before the light died. Interesting events. I'm curious what the crew's thought process was, as I've never had this problem before.

Discovered what I believe is an SP cantilevered signal in Harwood. Makes a nice backdrop, definitely need to return and shoot it in the future.

In order, Glidden, Borden, Flatonia, US90, and Harwood.
