Steam Chaser

Yesterday I went to Kirkwood under cloudy skies. Bad lighting, but I don't care. The station is situated at the top of a 5 mile long 1.3 percent grade, which makes loaded coal trains very exciting. Added traffic from reroutes around the Nebraska derailment made it busy.

1. DPU of a coal train at Tuxedo Park, just east of Kirkwood.
2. Then something cool happened. As I got to the station, west and eastbound trains had greens, and a meet was possible. I wanted to get atop the bridge to hear the AC44s on the loaded trains at notch 8. I did, and it was awesome!
3. Westbound drops downgrade.
4. DPU of coal loads.

5. How not to shoot a train. This one caught me off guard, and I didn't know where to shoot it from, so I chose here. It does show off the new fence though.
6. The DPU.
After that, I couldn't stay much longer and my battery died, but an AMTRAK and an intermodal train came through. Hope you all enjoy! :)
