now I will present you my photos from my last summertrip. We visit Romania again. A got friend and I started our trip in Dortmund Airport with a flight to Cluj Napoca. In Cluj Napoca we rent a car for all days. But there was a problem with our car. That was damaged and we get only a Ford Fiesta. It was a little bit smaller and not a SUV. But bether than nothing.
29th May
Our first photo we take near Huedin.
78 3216 (TFC) with a IR from Oradea to Cluj Napoca near Huedin.
628 635 (IRC) with a local train from Huedin to Cluj Napoca in Girbau.
65 1019 with the IR1834 from Timisoara to Iasi in Girbau.
The weather was bad after midday and we started a lng Trip to Alexandria. There were some branch lines with Malaxa´s. But the way was long, 520km (320 miles) and the street-network in Romania could be better. The freeway (Autobahn) was under construction and the national-street from Sibiu to Pitesti was crowded. On the half way between Sibiu and Pitesti, the traffic stopped. There must have been an accident somewhere. Only five minutes later the first Gypsys knocked on the window and wanted money. The gap between poor and rich is very large in Romania. After 45 minutes the traffic started again. After one kilometer, we see the accident. Two trucks were collided. We need for the way to Alexandria nearly nine hours. After Ramnicu Valcea we drive over the mountains and in Pitesti we were on the freeway (Autobahn) again. In Alexandria we found a hotel for the night.
30th May
Early in the morning we started our trip in the railway Zimnicea-Alexandria-Rosiorii de Vede. The ride to Zimnicea was longer then we thought. Left and right the street lay car wrecks.
We arrive our first photo-point on time.
This cars were build between 1935 and 1942 from Malaxa. 77 0936 with a local train from Zimnicea to Rosiorii de Vede Nord near Zimnicea. The facorty´s in the background were in Bulgaria.
The train was not fast, so we get him near Izvoarele again. Between Zimnicea and Alexandria runs only two trains per direction.
And a last photo from this train in Smârdioasa.
We want to ride to the next photo-point for an other train. But we must passed Alexandria and there was a cunstruction on a brigde. That cost a lot of time.
It was a big chaos, the traffic-lights doesn´t work properly.
Ok a moment left-hand-traffic ;-)
In the last moment, we arrive Plosca. The malaxa crossed with the local train to Alexandria.
60 0637 and one passanger-wagon departed Plosca.
At midday we take a aphoto from the next local train to Alexandria. 62 1149 with three carriages.
The weather was bader after midday and we take the time and look for other photo-point´s in the region. Here some photos from the region around Alexandria.
That is normal in Romania.
And that too.
31th May
The first photo of this day was damaged by the clouds and so we ride to a other photo-point near Peretu. On the way our car have the first damaged. We lost a plastic-part from the car (I don´t know the american word, but in germany we say "Schutz")
62 1149 with a local train from Rosiorii de Vede Nord to Alexandria between Rosiorii de Vede and Peretu.
The Malaxa from Zimnicea comes a moment later from the other direction. It was 77 0901.
The midday-local-train from Rosiorii de Vede to Alexandria between Petretu and Plosca.
A other railway, we get 77 0917 with a local train from Corabia to Caracal.
And than was the weather bad :-( But we hope for the next day.
1st June
Today, almost everything worked!
We started early in the morning. At first we look for the local train from Alexandria to Zimnicea. 77 0901 near Smardioasa.
Arrive in Zimnicea.
Later between Zimnicea and Smardioasa.
The street to this photo-point was very adventurous :-D
And a last photo from this train in Peretu.
Now we look to an other branch-line. Caracal-Piatra Olt.
77 0907 with a local train to Caracal in Vladuleni.
And again between Rescuta and Caracal.
After that photo we drive to the railway Caracal-Corabia, but the barriers in Caracal was closed. A woman looks out of the house from the barriers, tells a moment and opened the barriers a little bit and say we can drive over the track´s. Far away, we saw a freight train is coming. :-D

And at last in Visina.
We want to drive to our next destination nar Bukarest, but we make a stop in Zimnicea.

After this photo we drive to Oltenita. The street was very good, we thought.
But where are the other cars?
And than, after 20 kilometres, the route ends in the nothing. :-D
We drive on the lane and find after 5 Kilometres a other street to a village and there was a normal street to Giurgiu. But the temperatures outside is falling from 36°C to 17°C in 45 minutes. Behind Giurgiu a big but short thunderstorm is coming. After 10 minutes the thunderstorm was away and we started our ride again. We arrive Oltenita around 8 pm. Time enough to find a hotel and something to eat. Oltenita was a nice town with a lot of restaurants in downtown.
At next we will present you old german railcar´s and younger malaxa´s.
