I've been trying to research Pullman trains in about the time range of 1890 to 1895. I've been reading about smoker cars that were a combination with baggage cars and smokers/club/lounge cars that were separate from the baggage car, and I'm wondering which was more common for a trip, say, from Chicago to Denver. Is it true that the longer trips would have the separate baggage car? Are separate baggage cars vestibuled?
Sorry for all the questions. Mainly I'm trying to picture whether a passenger on a Burlington Route train can sneak into a baggage car through the vestibule, if there is one, or if he'd only be able to do that with the combination smoker/baggage car.
Thanks for any help.
Tamara
