Hi all. My name is Kraig and I live in Newaygo, Michigan. My Mom has a special male friend who is a retired railroad engineer, having had a long career in Michigan railroads. Once he and I got talking about railroads, it really sparked and interest. He started giving me some of his railroad magazines and before I knew it, I was hooked! I love the learn new things and I've always been interested in ships, airplanes, cars, etc. so I guess trains just adds to that list. Railroading is fascinating and much more complicated than most people know. I have learned a lot in the last few months and will continue to do so. I have done some railfanning in northern Indiana where there is much more rail action than in Michigan, and I have really enjoyed it. I can't cross a RR track without looking it up on Google maps and other websites to learn whose it is and where it goes. I thought joining this forum would be a good way to learn more. Thanks.
