A few weeks ago I posted this to the Photo Gallery

http://www.railroadforums.com/photos/showphoto.php/photo/64183

a shot with BHPB's SD70ACe/LC named Oroville. The 1st car dumper and ore wagons on the Mt Newman Mining line came from the Oroville Dam construction project. Yesterday whilst going along our site (BHPB's duplication project) I managed to get a few shots of the ballast train doing its stuff.

The SD40's are ex SP, the ballast wagons are ex ATSF (owned CFCLA), and between the loco's and the wagons is a plough wagon converted from one of the Oroville wagons.

If you are interested in rail related photos of the Oroville Dam construction, the following site is very interesting:

http://djkuba.tripod.com/index-5.html

A portion of the Western Pacific original main line line was used as a dam construction railroad, hauling fill. (A relocated WP main was constructed first.) Two construction trains experienced a tragic head-on collision just outside a tunnel on October 7, 1965, and there are some remarkable photos here.
