Sergio Leon's masterpiece "Once upon a time in the West" with good guy Charles Bronson and Hank Fonda as a ruthless killer. Watch for the railroad lantern in the bar, and the neat model steam engine in the evil crippled railroad barron's private car's office. Also note the toy train layout pieces that the widow finds in the chest left behind by her now dead husband. Most of Sergio's Clint Eastwood westerns have real trains in them.
You can see Sergios influence in modern westerns like Disney "Lone Ranger" with Johnny Depp as Tonto. Location and costumes are just like "Once upon a time... Panned by the critics, it was an expensive movie to make. The opening scene required helecoptering in a working full size locomotive and laying miles of track in the dessert outside Albuquerque. Watch for what happens to the lineman hanging from the telegraph wire in the opening scene. The evil railroad barron in this one has an operating HO scale model railroad in his private car. The movie ends with a cgi created rollercoaster race between the Central Pacific's Jupiter and what should be the Union Pacific 119 but is named "The Constitution" in the movie. Probably because UP denied them the rights. (historic engines from the transcontinental railroad joining ceremony).
