    Reflecting the USA style adopted by the South Aussie Railway during the Webb era, Steamranger preserved 4-8-4 520 struts along the South Oz coast heading to Victor Harbor. Both the line and puffer billy are today out of action. 520 was built in 1943.

    NSW Rail Transport Museum preserved NSWR puffer billy 5910 goes for a spin on the Lithgow turntable. A USRA light mike built by Baldwin/Lima/Hamilton in 1952. The 59 class were delivered as oil burners which were quickly converted to coal. Yes, it has that destinctive tugboat whistle

    Double header 44 class on a westbound empty wheatie halted at Murrobo NSW for crew change. I am in the cab of the Countrylink XPT WT28 from Dubbo to Sydney, travelling pas back to Lithgow. Another crew are onboard to relieve the eager wheatie crew who will also travel pas back east.

    The first train that I was rostered as driver. Double header dinky toys on freighter 7315 from Lithgow to Mudgee at Mount Frome trestle just south of Mudgee. Mudgee branch now closed north of Kandos. Empty wheat hoppers plus soil loaded oil pots in the short consist.
