Dispatcher 16 has given the UP 1988 an OK to proceed south on the Jonesboro Sub at South Otwell. It's seen here crossing CR 220 at the Craighead and Poinsett County line.
The "Katy" unit, UP 1988, waits at the signal on the south side of the Otwell siding. The signal was malfunctioning due to a storm that had passed through the area earlier.

This caboose sits high in the sky to attract visitors to the Casey Jones Village in Jackson, TN. The screen mesh around the bottom of the caboose helps keep birds from roosting underneath, as does the decoy preditor to the left.
Like the signs says, "Memphis is not the end of the Norfolk Southern system - It is the beginning - Safety first starts here". NS9238 is parked in front of the building displaying that sign in Forrest Yard on the East Spur.
An unpatched Cotton Belt locomotive is a very rare sight in 2005. SSW 9656 is seen here as the second locomotive in today's Job 43 train as it pulls out of the Wesson Oil Mill Plant on the backside of Sargent Yard near the NS main lines.
A railroader rides on the last car of the A43271 train on CN's Fulton Sub in Woodstock, Tennessee just north of Memphis. They are headed for the Fite Road crossing on the way to re-connect with the remainder of the train.
