One word describes today. DEAD. I managed to see 2 trains and photograph one of them. As for the other I was only able to see it. Which was a ballast train with 2 SD70Ms and 52 cars that as I type this is parked in Manhattan, KS for a siding project west of there.
UP 6804 east.
A rare SD70ACe led coal train heads west at 6:54PM on 9/28/08 definately the best catch so far this fall. A thing to note even though rare this is just proof that it is possible to catch a Heritage Unit on a coal train!
Finally I get to go railfanning there was a BNSF/NS led train behind this that I was waiting for but it didn't come till 12:48AM this was taken at about 8:58 just 2 minutes before curfuew Leading was UP 5936.
