  1. CP PNL

    CP PNL

CP 6038 east with 4 units behind it about to cross number 5 highway at Neepawa, MB on Minnedosa Sub. Some of the units were going to be dropped off at the Dundonald elevator by the town of Mcdonald.
  2. CN coal?

    CN coal?

Ex-Southern & Burlington Northern (both fallen flags) coal hoppers roll under CNs banner. Theres also a large chunk of ex-CP ones in the fleet on unit trains. Note the bent structure on the CNA (ex-SOU) hopper.
  3. Lifting CN Watrous sub

    Lifting CN Watrous sub

Its early morning - crews work hard to replace the switch off the Watrous sub onto the Warman sub (PNL route). As you can see clearly in the photo, the mainline is split. 4. Saskatoon meet

    Saskatoon meet

CP 457 is taking over the diamond while CN 314 waits for a crew. This is the JCT of the CN Warman sub & CP Wilkie subs, both considered part of each Railways Prairie North Line. Note the long tankers cut in 314's consist!

You can clearly see it just northwest of Saskatoon in this 1917 map: http://www.vanc.igs.net/~roughley/cnor_map.html Today however its just a dot on...
  6. UP DPU

    UP DPU

Someones misusing DPU capability LOL. Half the train is in the tow, the other half will be lifted down the line to form a typical '1+2' potash train, i.e.: Engine/62 hoppers/2 Engines/62 hoppers (119-125 hoppers in total) Normally this is done by two AC4400CW's up front (1 unit waiting @...
  7. Them bones

    Them bones

I couldn't come up with a name for this shot, so just went by the song I was listening. The name fits well though: It seems like your stereotypical Prarie shot, something that could have been taken 20 years ago - A pair of SD40-2's leading a manifest. These engines however have been...
