Hit the road Saturday to see the Katy heritage unit for the first time on its latest trip west through So Cal. Nice looking loco and the spotless ACes trailing looked great also. Hope you enjoy the photos.

This is a the MKT Depot in Katy Texas. Though the tracks end at the edge of the city limits, it still runs westward. I do recall the tracks ran all the way to downtown Houston,Texas. MKT was taken over by Union Pacific.
UP 1988 leads a string of baretables out of the siding at Castroville, California in February of 2009. The UP painted up this new locomotive in honor of the Missouri Kansas Texas railroad which became part of the Union Pacific system in the 1980's.
