I wanted to catch a train on the curve, there was just no traffic. Oh well, maybe next time. Here's what it looks like with trains running:

1976 CN 50474, 40 ton OHIO crane pushed a platform, also pulling another one. Notice a MOW operator on the front. I got to observe this thing lay fresh tracks from the car it pulled, then travel the mainline to rest at the MOW depot. Quite an impresive piece of machinery.
CN & ONR have a power sharing agreement, whereby CN gives them power for heavy coal trains, ONR in turn gives back whenever it can spare (or something close). Normally their units are capped in Northern Ontario, here however their newest power is taking an Intermodal out West! ONR 2105 is...
The view you'll see if you're being run over by a train. Shot from public property, obviously it wasn't moving. Looks a bit like a 2300 series ALCO with the short hood, round roof & no dithlights...

Back in 2004 I managed to catch three trio sets working the...
Kind of looks like a European diesel, complete with a funky headlight! Aside from cranes & Rail grinders, still the biggest MOW single piece Ive seen to date. Note the two arrows on the body, indicating where the front is? Be odd to see that on locomotive frames instead of the usual F, R...
Dale Junction, Wyoming, where the 1953 addition of #3 track joins the original doubletrack transcon. Here we see a westbound drag manifest on #3, and an eastbound stack train on #2 track.
From my movie DVD, Extra 16 West (4 SD-40's on the head end) arrives at Tacoma Jct after a midtrain derailment at Garcia, MP 2131 (between Cedar Falls and Hyak). This is the head end. I am tending the switch from the mainline to the yard, my wrecker-work extra is in the clear on the T & E...
