I heard the CN 314 order up a track warrant, so I figured catching him would be like shooting fish in a barrel. Like many other occasions, I got to the bridge as he came of the Warman sub. I was not expecting too much. He didn't have anything to bizzare in the way of freight cars, but the CN...
My second run in with the CN 2225. He heads up the Cosco train from Prince Rupert. He was right behind 302, and he stopped at Riverview to wait for the block to clear. After that, he took off on the main to clear for the 357.
The CN 548 rolls out over the bridge minutes after the 560. After the 303 passes, he will go onto the Craik sub, and dod some stuff. He could be pulling loads from Davidson, but it's usual practice for power to lay over in town while the cars are loaded. He will probably dawdle back into town...
As usual, the 115 comes in as the best catch of the night. Despite the fact that every train I caught had a Dash-9 on the point that night, this one is probably the best of them. CN C44-9W 2204 leads tonight.
CN 346 crawls off of the bridge and past the station signs at Riverview. The train took atleast 10 minutes to get here from the yards across the river. Perhaps CN is using DPU power as an excuse to underpower their trains? He didn't seem to have any trouble getting up to speed later.
Happens to the best of us! Now that the CN 8800s are common as wheat out here, I can't say this train is 'special' or 'unusual'. But, the new power was just too cool. It's strange to see them on the 450.
CN 2229 is on the lead again, and is now charging east with 2542. They had just met another train and were notching out of a crawl. The 2229 has been pouring alot more fumes then most other GEVOs. Perhaps she is not being maintained very well? The tarped flat was laoded with locomotve axels.
With more ES44DC's on the horizon, perhaps CN could finally kill off the SD40-2W fleet.
The executioner sure looks good though. Even compared to the "kinda new" Dash 9-44CW behind him.

Brand new ES44DC leads CN 865 into Saskatoon.
Two 4400hp engines have become the standard for CN grain trains. The CTRW grainer right before him utilizes CN's rejects, a pair of GP10's and a newly aquired GP40-2LW, tradional CN grain train power, from only a couple years ago (remember the...

I planned for a shot avoiding the fence, but not for 2 chubby men on bicycles. Note the endangered SD40-2, 5381. The SD40s seem very common the crack trains as of late.
The Trackside guide says nothing on the matter. The leader, CN 2229 made more exhaust than most Dash-9s I've seen. Or perhaps it was the trailing Connell SD40-3? Lost of empty stack cars and hoppers. The train also conceals an Algoma Central gondola.
The crew must have felt high and mighty that day. The train was apprently 9000+ feet long when he chimed in on the radio. The female dispatcher claimed that she loved one of the crew members, and gave the train clearence right through to Watrous. He must have picked up the wheat cars at Hannah.
