Amtrak Cascades racing north at Kalama, Washington.

Amtrak Cascades Train #506 races north after crossing over from Main #1 to Main #2 at MP 111 crossovers. The train is about 10-12 minutes away from it's next stop at Kelso, Washington. The sun just happened to show when the train was coming into view, so I converted it into black & white.

  7. Hot Stuff

    Hot Stuff

Here we see CN 111. Apparently, the most important Intermodal on the west leg of the CN. He came by not too long after CN 199, who in turn was not to far behind 303. All train had an SD75I leading, so I was pretty happy.
  8. Back to Basics

    Back to Basics

The 111 comes out of the bushes, much to my surpirse. The picture was taken on the north side of the tracks, and the lighting still looks nice.
  9. You here often?

    You here often?

I planned for a shot avoiding the fence, but not for 2 chubby men on bicycles. Note the endangered SD40-2, 5381. The SD40s seem very common the crack trains as of late.
  10. Looks are decieving

    Looks are decieving

What we see here is CN 111, Hotest of the hot. But today, the train plays host to sevral bare table well cars. The second unit is an SD40U, which may not be around much longer.
