    Where is the Omaha Posse?

On the way home we paced 5081 and then stopped at Ashland to watch it and the mid train engines and the DPU pass. Headlight was dimmed as it went by and a westbound empty hopper showed up right away.

    Where is the Omaha Posse?

We saw 7 trains, 5 manifest and 2 empty hopper on the way down hwy 6. At the BNSF near 14th St in Lincoln, an eastbound coal and 2 trains on the siding waiting to get in the yards. And then near the Amtrak station there was a train with 4 engines. Peeking from between 2 is the 1920 in BN green...

    Where is the Omaha Posse?

The weather man predicted ice and snow and high winds at noon. So what should we do this morning? Let’s drive 50 miles to our favorite train store in Lincoln(Randy’s Roundhouse, who is not responsible for any comments made here). I’ll bet we can be back to Omaha before the world ends. Got there...

    Where is the Omaha Posse?

Many forgot over the summer. It was amazing the number of accidents and generally stupid driving. What else could I do but photo trains?

    Where is the Omaha Posse?

Looks like fall is over in the Omaha area. After driving my wife to work, hour and 5 minutes for 14 miles, I ventured to Council Bluffs. While Omaha was at a standstill on the interstate highways, CB was moving along and the trains were running. UP at 2nd avenue with the red signal where the...

    Trains of Edmonds, Washington

I really like the first photo in #242. Having the boats up high and the train down low makes you wonder "why are the boats up there?" Good job! Also the Sounder appears to be plowing through the bushes. Thank you, son of Bill. Rick Zorko

    Where is the Omaha Posse?

Here are a few from a different angle, at bridge level. Eastbounds this time of year will get no favorable sun. And one from Dunlap.

Ui loco San Antonio, TX Mar 7 2018

Because of the front windows I will guess EMD SD70MAC. I cannot make out the number, so is just a guess. Do you have a closer pic with the engine number? Union Pacific uses many different models.

    Union Pacific.

That 5055 is one dirty engine. I like to see the old CNW hopper. It’s amazing to see how long these old cars hang around. Thanks for posting photos of the Blair action. Rick

    Some Old Slides Rerun

For those of you in the area, in Tom’s #6 group is a GE on a bridge. This is 72nd st in Ralston. The bridge was very low and caught many a rental truck ripping the top of the truck box off. Also one unfortunate car hit the center pillar and killed some folks. It’s probably good that it was...

Couple of pics in Lincoln, NE

Yes, school daydreaming. My 8th grade Spanish class was on the south side of the Jr. High, which gave a good view of the UP Mainline at 84th Street in Omaha. Each day during class we were treated to a Mail train, then the passenger train and usually followed by a freight, many times with a big...

Couple of pics in Lincoln, NE

It’s always fun to see the old units still around. Are these on the the southeast side of town(near the prison)? If we had a graffiti artist with a lot of MP blue paint, we could return to yesteryear. Thank for the pics. Rick

    Where is the Omaha Posse?

That is the end of a siding that is still connected on the east side. I’ll see if I can find an old photo with the station.

HD video 90 degree triple crossing dual gauge

Very nice. The crossing, the tower, and the road crossing all are interesting ideas for th model railroad. I am enjoying the views from Argentina.
