I've being working at my job for 4 years at a tire plant in SC. I have several years a military experience and I'm 33. Is this too old to try and join the railroad. I have read that RR retirement takes 30 years which would put me at 63. Would my age be a disqualifying factor?

No it wouldn't; I know of people in their 40s that have gotten hired withing the last 5 years.

Good luck!

Once upon a time major railroads had age limits, 35 for no experience-45 with experience, but no more. I know a couple guys who were hired in their upper 50s/lower 60s.
