    I Caught The SP4449 At...

Thanks, Mrmoose. So are yours, Keith's and Bob's. It must have been great seeing her moving at track speed. I only got to see her moving in working yard speeds.

    I Caught The SP4449 At...

I caught it as the the train was being put together in Portland. The engineer of the SP 4449 backing her up. The engine cab floor. The diesel and cars along side the SP 4449. The last move of the night as she was being brought around to the front of the train.

    Favorite Superbowl commercial?

Mine was the Chevy Transformers one. http://superbowlads.fanhouse.com/2011/chevy-transformers/ First, it got my attention showing the valley I grew up in (Mt Baldy!) but then it got real interesting. Definitely LOL'd on that one.
  5. SP 4449

    SP 4449

Headed east with an Amtrak unit in the consist, and a train of private cars headed east for Train Festival 2009 in Michigan. Near Maryhill.

Thanks Mile27, I think I was still crouching under that trailer at that point, keeping the lens dry.

  9. BNSF SD70 ACe

    BNSF SD70 ACe

After a crew change, BNSF 9154 slowly pulls a coal train into the Vancouver, WA yard. It was raining while I took this, but fortunately, there was a lone truck trailer in an adjoining parking lot that shielded me.

    An amazing shot. Love it!
  12. Union Pacific Surfliner

    Union Pacific Surfliner

This image started with a shot of the Surfliner I took under a clear cloudless sky. I replaced the Surfliner with a Union Pacific train I took in Daggett during a dust storm, and added some skies I shot once in Hesperia.

Congrats, Bad on your low contrast entry. Also, I like how clean the detail is on the train and foreground. What is that interesting building off to the right?
  15. SP&S 700 Santa Train

    SP&S 700 Santa Train

The SP&S 700 (4-8-4) pulling up to the BNSF Christmas Party in Vancouver, WA today. Lots of happy children and families were present, as were a lot of happy (and very cold) railfans! I was so choked up by the 700's impressive approach (the crew really put on a GREAT show) that words...
