    Henry - I'm sure the image is sharp. I think the problem is in re-sizing. Try sizing your image to 96 pixels per inch and a width of 10". Then do a 'save as' and chose a jpeg quality level of around 10. Should post just find. Nice shot.

    C&O boiler explosion details?

    Here's a link to an explosion in 1936. A C&O Mallet involved this time. I don't know the wheel arrangement but the C&O had lots of 2-6-6-2's in service around Beckley WV where this occured.

    A C&O H8 Allegheny had a catastrophic crown sheet boiler explosion at Hinton WV in June 1953. The force of the explosion tore the boiler from the frame killing the three man crew and tossing the boiler end of end ahead of the remains of the locomotive.
