Size matters
Compared to just about anything - hoppers, center-beams, single-stack IMS cars, boxcars, autoracks, etc. gondolas are ussually the smallest. Yet all it takes is a comparison to a human being to see how big they actually are!

The gon is loaded with somekind of wooden supports. Note the yellow patch - CP/UP merger conspiracy theorists will no doubt enjoy this.

PS. I know it looks like coal in the background, but it's only snow and dirt. Also note the fire hydrant in the back, right by the tracks there's a dirt field with paved streets and 10 fire hydrants all ready for a new business to move in.
