WB on #1 track; between Loomis and Rocklin CA. SP Donner Pass
My father worked in those orchards (behind the locos) in the early 1950s. One day while he was picking there was an unusual commotion for every single westbound. A signal was out on the nearby semaphore block signal and every train had to stop and flag the block. This meant every steam engine had to whistle out the rear flagman and then call the flagman back in before proceeding with another set of whistles. Dad later learned from a guy that was a signal maintainer that the signal's colored glass was constantly being rocked by juvenile delinquents in Rocklin.
