Running Down Quint Street
The South City Switcher winds its way down the twisting street trackage of Quint Street in San Francisco. If there's going to be a headache, this is where it will be, as many people don't realize that a freight train comes through here on a daily basis. Thinking the tracks are abandoned, many people park on them.
I took your advice and went into SF in hopes of catching the "South City Switcher." Sure enough I watched them come out of the tunnel from Jerrold St. I got a couple of pics as it crossed that street. I also went down Cargo Way to the LB Railco "yard" and got a couple of pics of some interesting locos (they're posted). I didn't even know there was such a shortline RR.

LB Railco is the company that absorbed what remained of the San Francisco Belt Railroad. They have two Alco S-2 switchers and an EMD-re-engined Baldwin.
