Medicine Hat, AB

VIA Rail no longer runs along the southern route via Thunder Bay, Regina & Calgary, however two former horses can be found at the town square in Medicine Hat, a CP crew change point. The Sherman? is a nice touch, indicative of the Suffield military base nearby. I even saw British Army units en route from Banff (by road). Not much in terms of facilities at Suffield though - just a couple rams for unloading tanks and other equipment off railroad flats. The set-up is much better at the US Army Fort Carson base (Colorado Springs) as they have an engine shed in the middle of the yard complete with an ex-UP GP40-2 & GP9R.
