Georgetown Loop Railroad

The Georgetown Loop Railroad is a narrow gauge line which runs between Georgetown, Colorado (USA) and the town of Silver Plume, high on the mountain to the west of Georgetown. This former mining (and now tourist) railroad runs a Shay engine and even stops at an old silver mine which can be toured by passengers on the way. This shot was taken while on the high trestle overlooking these tracks. This is what makes the "loop" in the Georgetown Loop Railroad!

The photo was taken in August of 2002.
