Are you an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad? If not, weren't you on UP property in violation of tresspassing laws? Great shot--but was it done legally? Did you have written authorization to be at location on UP property?

Mr. Bell: Thanks for the nice rating. Just to put your mind at ease, I was standing roughly on the edge of the railroad's 100-foot right-of-way, right at the edge of tree line. I took my initial shot, stepped back away from the tracks as the train approached, and got a friendly toot and wave from the crew, as I usually do out in the forest. A car stopped at a grade crossing is typically half again as close to the train as I was, and generally oblivious to any oncoming danger (dragging strapping, etc.).
