Taken in the mid-50's on Kodachrome Film and converted to digital.
This is part of that long time ago forgotten Chicago. And these images I cannot get enough of. Thanks for posting them.
 
Thanks - they bring back a lot of memories for me, too. I guess the interesting thing as I look at today compared to then is, as a teeneage in the 50's I could pretty much wander around in the yards and no one ever said a word. Try that today!

From what I hear Winnipeg used to be just like that.
 
The stripe pattern is wrong for a Santa Fe engine. This might be a Chicago & Western Indiana RS-1.
