Kyle (hokketalgo) and I are on the chase with the P&W #4433 chasing the Lewis & Clark RDC's moving to their new home of Brooklyn Yard. This shot is showing the P&W 4433 going towards Banks, Ore. This is one of many spots on the United Railways Jct. splits two farmer fields.

I wish I rode those before they discontinued the service on the Astoria line of the Portland & Western Railroad.. Oh well, maybe I will get to ride my RDC later in life. They were causing a few problems for the crew on duty.. Sounded like the air was leaking from the airhorn pretty bad..

Brings back old memories. I use to ride them every weekend in the late 1950's before the highway between Vancouver & Squamish BC was completed. Also made a couple of trips from Vancouver to Prince George.

Well, the state of Oregon is in the process of deciding what to do with them. They served their purpose for the Lewis & Clark explorer train.. Now, they are sitting at a yard in SE Portland, Ore.
