Burning the coal

Burning the coal

Ha, got you there, not a puffer billy after all. Nope, the coalie I am working is not headed into Wallerawang power station. LS17 is about to propel into A & B siding at Lidsdale to load coal. The coal burnt in Wang power house dosen't even come by train. Instead, it arrives via a massive converyor belt snaking across the countryside. I took the opportunity to jump down and take this shot while my offsider was at the back of the train changing the points on the triangle to allow me to shove the empty train into A & B siding. Not much pollution wafting out of Wang power house stacks on this particular day back almost a year ago. Oh yeh, daywork, I wonder how I snagged that. Ha!
Aussie Alco.
