Black River Bridge

Pere Marquette Railroad's Black River Bascule Bridge lasted longer than its name sake. Located at the mouth of the Black River in Port Huron, Mi. No longer used, it has been an aid to mariners and an eyesore to city planners. The cost to bring it down is more than the city would like to pay, so it stays, lasting longer than the railroad that built it and it will be one of two structures downtown in Port Huron, Mi to remind them of its railroad heritage... for the former PM, now CSX, Yard will be gone this year.

Railroad structures won't be as much of an eyesore as all the strip malls, Wal-Marts, and McDonalds that are popping up in their place.
 
Wal-mart moved into Tawas Michigan and will be tearing down the Detroit & Mackinaw Shops there. The yard will be gone, roundhouse, turntable and all remnants of the place. Surely they will have some enlarged photos on the wall inside... just like some fat trophy hunter with his lions head!
